According to a YouTube spokesperson, recently popular YouTube news channel Fox News Australia has been temporally suspended over health Misinformation.
According to Youtube’s the sky news channel has been suspended for 1 whole week ( 7 days) for getting community guidelines strike over health Misinformation, Ivy Choi, a youtube spokesperson, said in a release to reporters. The spokesperson also said that if the sky news channel receives 2 more strikes for a total of 3 in 90 days, the channel would be terminated from the site.
In a full statement, Choi said: “We have clear and established COVID-19 medical misinformation policies based on local and global health authority guidance, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 misinformation that could cause real-world harm,”
In a statement, Sky News Digital Director said that he: “expressly rejects that any host has ever denied the existence of Covid-19 as was implied, and no such videos were ever published or removed,” and that the video “deemed unpalatable for societal consumption” included debates over whether “masks were effective and whether lockdowns were justified when considering their adverse health outcomes.”
The digital director accused YouTube of censorship based on the political persuasions of the guest that made the comments on the video taken down. However, YouTube claims that policies are applied equally for all creators.
Sky News and Sky News Australia are both owned by Rupert Murdoch and Fox News.
