Rep. Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) told reporters that the USPS has confirmed that they are running a spy operation where they will spy on everyday Americans’ posts on Facebook, gab, and Parlor if anything inflammatory is found they will alert the FBI.
GST BROKE THE STORY:
Golden State Times broke the story on Youtube about the shady USPS Spy operation…
USPS Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale confirmed to lawmakers that the agency is running a shadowy operation dubbed the Internet Covert Operations Program.
Barksdale said a USPS executive branch oversees the operation. However, he claimed it is not an actual “program” because it is “incident-related,” not an ongoing initiative.
Barksdale said the USPS will not shut down the operation but instead would just not allow the bulletins to be released to all employees and instead it will be on a need to know basis due to a leak which led to the surveillance program being exposed by reporters.
LAWMAKERS ON SPY MATTER
“The Chief Postal Inspector was wildly unprepared for this briefing,” Rep. Mace said.
She said he could not provide a date for when the operation began or how much money is being spent on it.
Barksdale also declined to say which government agencies are coordinating with USPS on the operation.
