President Trump spoke about keeping U.S. military troops in Iraq to keep close tabs on Iran and suspicious activity, if there is any, during his “Face The Nation” interview.
“I have intel people, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree,” @realDonaldTrump says about his intelligence chiefs’ assessment of Iran. He also tells @margbrennan one of the reasons he wants to keep troops in Iraq is “to be able to watch Iran.” pic.twitter.com/vcIiuaKTa1

Last year the President pulled the U.S. out of the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal, which placed restrictions in the country’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief
“All I want to do is be able to watch,” Trump said on “Face the Nation” on CBS.
He also explained the reasoning of keeping troops in Iraq by saying, “We’re going to keep watching and we’re going to keep seeing and if there’s trouble, if somebody is looking to do nuclear weapons or other things, we’re going to know it before they do.”
