On Friday, the President said the law protects him “100 percent” from releasing his tax returns to Democrats in a battle long lived.
DEMOCRATS: Democrats have audited the President because he did not want to release his tax returns to Congress.
THE PRESIDENT: President Trump stated, “Hey, I’m under audit. But that’s up to whoever it is. From what I understand the law is 100 percent on my side.”
IRS: The IRS states audits do not prevent people from releasing their own tax information. The IRS has not responded.
RICHARD NEAL: House Ways and Means Committee Chairman asked the IRS for the President’s tax returns and related information by Wednesday.
DEMOCRATS: Democrats are trying to pass a provision that allows the Chairman of Congress’s tax committees the power to ask for any tax returns, examine, and return them in a closed session. Their main motive is to catch the President in a criminal act and to catch anyone who has failed to complete their taxes and do them correctly.
THE PRESIDENT: When the President was asked about directing the IRS not to leak his tax return he said, “They’ll speak to my lawyers and they’ll speak to the attorney general.”

CONCLUSION: The President never released his tax returns during his 2016 campaign and even now that Democrats have audited him and demanded the IRS to release his tax returns in order to find a new reason to berate the President since Mueller found no collusion or obstruction. Democrats claim the President’s tax returns have potential conflicts of interest or improper financial dealings within them.
