The President tweeted that USA has been cheated and hurt by EU subsidies to Airbus but he will put Tariffs on $11 billion of the EU products.

The World Trade Organization finds that the European Union subsidies to Airbus has adversely impacted the United States, which will now put Tariffs on $11 Billion of EU products! The EU has taken advantage of the U.S. on trade for many years. It will soon stop!

ROBERT LIGHTHIZER: U.S. Trade Rep. Lighthizer released the list of the EU subsidies harmful to the USA, this document calls to end European Union subsidies to Airbus.

ROBERT LIGHTHIZER: Lighthizer mentioned this in a statement, “Our ultimate goal is to reach an agreement with the EU to end all WTO-inconsistent subsidies to large civil aircraft. When the EU ends these harmful subsidies, the additional U.S. duties imposed in response can be lifted.”
AIRBUS: Airbus spokesperson said, “This would lead to unnecessary trade tensions and that shows the only reasonable solution is a negotiated settlement,” about the Tariff situation.
ROBERT LIGHTHIZER: This case has been in litigation for 14 years, and the time has come for action. The Administration is preparing to respond immediately when the WTO issues its finding on the value of U.S. countermeasures,”
CONCLUSION: The President has put Tariffs on $11 billion of European Union Aircraft subsidies for hurting the American economy and not loyal. Airbus for EU say they want a negotiated settlement instead of tariffing.
