President Trump is reportedly set to impose tariffs on $50 billion in Chinese goods, which will likely further ramp up concerns about a trade war between the world’s two largest economies.
The White House could release the list of about 1,300 technology products imported from China that would get hit by the duties as early as Friday, according to news reports on Thursday night. The tariffs are expected to go into effect soon, but no date has been announced. Imposing the tariffs will NOT jeopardize Beijing’s cooperation in talks to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula because Secretary of State Mike Pompeo just finished a very successful trip to China to talk North Korea on Thursday.
Thanks to President Xi for hosting me. U.S. and #China are firmly committed to the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and facilitating a lasting and stable peace in the region. pic.twitter.com/SJfxVlWoCK

Great job, President Trump: Commander – in – Chief, Negotiator – in – Chief, and Non-Sleeper – in – Chief.
