Biden to shut down rules in place that have been successful for the past four years to apprehend criminal aliens and threats to National Security
The Biden Administration plans to end the Trump Era rule where Immigration officials can arrest illegal aliens at court Houses. Homeland Security Secretary for the Biden Administration claims that Aliens will become reluctant to help in police investigations if they feel that they would be at risk of removal if ICE is allowed to arrest them in court.
Mayorkas said the previous strategy “had a chilling effect on individuals’ willingness to come to court or work cooperatively with law enforcement.”
Mayorkas added that Biden’s vision of “Today’s new guidance is the latest step in our efforts to focus our civil immigration enforcement resources on threats to homeland security and public safety.”
From now on, apprehensions at courthouses would only be allowed if the Alien is a danger to others or is a national security threat.
HOW BIDEN CLAIMS HE IS CURBING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:
In order to prove that the Biden Administration is doing something to curb illegal migration, DHS has launched Operation sentinel. An operation working to crack down on migrant smuggling by targeting financial and travel sanctions, among other “measures.”
Mayorkas said, “Transnational criminal organizations put profit over human life, with devastating consequences,” Mayorkas said. “With the help of our federal and foreign partners, we aim to cut off access to that profit by denying these criminals the ability to engage in travel, trade, and finance in the United States. We intend to disrupt every facet of the logistical network that these organizations use to succeed.”
