The owner of the National Enquirer, David Pecker, spoke on Friday about how his tabloid dealt with Jeff Bezos, calling their actions, lawfully.
AMI and the National Enquirer are owned by David Pecker, he is also a longtime associate of President Trump.
Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, posted a blog to ‘Medium’ describing emails sent to him personally from the National Enquirer about its possession of intimate photos of him and his mistress.
Bezos accused AMI and the Enquirer of attempting to extort him by threatening to publish revealing text messages and nude photos of Bezos.
“Rather than capitulate to extortion and blackmail, I’ve decided to publish exactly what AMI sent me, despite the personal cost and embarrassment they threaten,” Bezos had this to say on Thursday.
“Of course I don’t want personal photos published, but I also won’t participate in their well-known practice of blackmail, political favors, political attacks, and corruption…I prefer to stand up, roll this log over, and see what crawls out,” he added.
David Pecker continues to defend his tabloid, their actions, and motives.
