On Thursday, House Democrats reversed Trump’s decision for rejecting the Paris Agreement with the help of 3 Republicans who backed the reverse.
HOUSE DEMOCRATS: House Dems provided most of the votes with no Democrat opposing and 3 Republicans backed up the vote.
RINOS: Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Elise Stefanik of New York, and Vern Buchanan of Florida backed up the vote siding with Dems.
PARIS TREATY: Federal funds cannot be used to withdraw from the Paris Agreement and legally cannot withdraw until the 2020 election.
The treaty also requires the President to submit a plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions 26% to 28% below 2005 levels by 2025.
RINO: Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania stated why he backed the reverse, “Climate change must be addressed proactively with leaders from both sides of the aisle working to protect our planet.”
CONCLUSION: The Paris Treaty was an agreement made in the Obama-era to focus on Climate Change world wide but the President’s plan was to take it out which is why he rejected it but House Dems reversed it and now it bars Trump from doing anything until re-election.
