H-1B Visas Cap reached in just one week

The White House says that the Cap for H-1B visas has been reached in just under a week…

First, what is an H-1B Visa?

Well, it is a visa in the United States under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(15)(H) which allows U.S. employers to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status, find another employer (subject to an application for adjustment of status and/or change of visa), or leave the United States. According to the White House, it has taken a work week to snap all 85,000 foreigners positions available in 2019.

So now that all the possible visa positions have been filled homeland Security and  US Citizenship and Immigration services will pick which ones of those applicants will actually be granted the temporary VISA.

President Trump has called for H-1B visa applications must have extreme Vetting to try to weed out fraud and make sure they aren’t taking jobs from eligible and willing American workers.

To win an H-1B visa a company must show that it seeks a worker with specialized knowledge.
