Senate Democrats introduce legislation to make Dreamers eligible to work on Capitol Hill.
SENATE DEMOCRATS: The Senators who wrote this bill up are Kamala Harris, Dick Durbin, and Catherine Cortez Masto and this bill would expand the eligibility for a job as a congressional staffer or intern for any DACA recipient or Dreamer who were brought to the U.S. as a child.
KAMALA HARRIS: Harris stated, “those same young people are banned from giving back to their country by working for Congress. That has to change.”
DUSTIN DURBIN: Durbin said, “seen firsthand how the people of Illinois would benefit if Dreamers could serve as paid employees in my office.”
THE BILL: The bill is supported by plenty of House Democrats, immigration support groups, and Senate Democrats, it’s not a bill that would be easy to pass through Capitol Hill or Congress.
United We Dream, the National Immigration Law Center and Unidos are among those groups who are behind this bill.
THE SENATE: The Senate recently voted down three immigration bills after the White House cracked down on moderate lawmakers.
THE PRESIDENT: The President has recently cracked down on Congress to change Immigration laws effectively or he will close down all the borders.
Congress must get together and immediately eliminate the loopholes at the Border! If no action, Border, or large sections of Border, will close. This is a National Emergency!

CONCLUSION: The Senate Democrats and House Democrats have introduced a bill to expand the eligibility of a congressional staffer or intern for DACA recipients or Dreamers to work in Capitol Hill. Many Dems are behind it and others including immigration or Dreamer groups. The President is yet to make a move on this situation but makes the odds of this bill to pass as not likely.
