WHAT WE KNOW:
(MSNBC) U.S. stocks fell sharply on Friday as heightened speculative trading by retail investors continued to unnerve the market.
The Dow Jones Industrial average lost 630 points, or 2.1%. The S&P 500 fell 1.9% as all 11 sectors traded in the red. The Nasdaq Composite slid 2.1%.
