• the court wrote in an unsigned opinion: “Although Congress has indisputably given OSHA the power to regulate occupational dangers, it has not given that agency the power to regulate public health more broadly,”

• The court also wrote: “Requiring the vaccination of 84 million Americans, selected simply because they work for employers with more than 100 employees, certainly falls in the latter category,”

• All the Liberal Justices voted against blocking the mandate

• In the second ruling on the administration’s vaccination rules for healthcare workers, the court voted 5-4 to keep vaccine mandates for healthcare workers in place

• The majority wrote, “We agree with the Government that the [Health and Human Services] Secretary’s rule falls within the authorities that Congress has conferred upon him.”

• In that case, Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett dissented from that ruling.

• The new ruling is a victory for the American people and a huge victory for 27 states with Republican attorneys general or governors, private businesses, religious groups, and national industry groups such as the National Retail Federation and the American Trucking Associations, the National Federation of Independent Business.
