2021’s Fourth of July weekend has topped any other modern history as the Bloodiest America has seen with multiple mass shootings.
According to news reports, there were 14 mass shootings over the holiday, with four shot and killed. The Gun Violence archive noted that there had been 20 mass shootings in July and 336 in 2021 alone.
Over the 4th of July weekend, there were a reported 150 deaths over 400 incidents over the holiday. In Chicago alone, there were 83 people shot, and 14 were killed. Just before the holiday, Chicago PD superintendent David Brown warned that this year would be the most challenging weekend of the year.
In New York, Gun Violence has risen over 40%; there have been 767 shootings and 885 victims up to this point in 2021. Over the 4th of July weekend, there were 26 victims of 21 shootings.
