The Green New Deal has failed to win the support of half of the House Democrat caucus, and no support from the Republicans, effectively loosing any chance of floor consideration.
AOC: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is a Democratic-Socialist freshman congresswoman, whom introduced the Green New Deal in February but has not been supported by both parties because the proposal is too far left and not sustainable
THE GREEN NEW DEAL: Calls for a complete overhaul of the nation’s housing, transportation, businesses, and agriculture to end carbon emissions and to prevent climate change. This includes the production of animals mostly cows.
THE HOUSE OF REPS: The House has 235 Democrats and 140 Republicans but only 90 colleagues of AOC are for the Green New Deal.
AOC: AOC needs 218 votes to pass the Green New Deal without the Republican vote but it does not seem to get that far as she only has less than half of the Dem’s vote.
AOC told her following on social media to not have children due to this climate change.
She was not offered a seat in the Climate Change Committee that gave 2 freshman lawmakers a seat.
MITCH MCCONNELL: Mitch McConnell said about the House, “Our nation has watched the Democratic Party take a sharp and abrupt left turn toward socialism, A flawed ideology that has been rejected time and again across the world is now driving the marquee policy proposals of the new House Democrat majority,” he stated.
MADAME SPEAKER: Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, even stated in a press conference, “The new green deal, is it?” and the green dream she said it was.
CONCLUSION: The Green New Deal is not very popular in the House and even though AOC has a great following on social media it’s not the same in the House. No one really supports her socialist views in the House and not even Speaker of the House is impressed with the Green New Deal. The deal will eventually melt down.
