The White House has restored CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s press credentials — but issued him a warning presaging future punishment should his antics continue, the cable network said Monday.
That appears to be a reversal from late last week when the White House had sent a letter signaling it had made a preliminary decision to strip Mr. Acosta of his press pass and gave him two days to reply with a defense. Instead, the White House has said he’ll get his pass back, CNN said, quoting from a letter it said the White House sent to Mr. Acosta “Having received a formal reply from your counsel to our letter of November 16, we have made a final determination in this process: your hard pass is restored,” the network quoted from the letter. “Should you refuse to follow these rules in the future, we will take action in accordance with the rules set forth above.
